Affiliate Marketing Success Tips

Google Buzz

When you set out to choose one of the many hundreds
of thousands of affiliate marketing programs they all
claim to be the best right?  Some will even come across
leading you to believe that all you have have to do is use
their banners and links then wait for the cash to start shooting
out of your laptop …NOT! Could this really happen? Yes, but
not normally …this happens very rarely and if it does only with
large sites that have high traffic.

Banner Selection
Almost all affiliate marketing programs give you several different
banners to place on your website, however, not many of them will
be effective. Why you ask?  Simply the size of them.  If the banners
are large in size, they have longer loading times and many visitors are
not on your site long enough to see the banner after it loads.   Make sure
that your banners are 15 Kb or less in size.  Also, make sure the banners
are in keeping with the theme and design of your website.

Pop Ups & Pop Unders
A general rule of thumb on pop ups in your affiliate marketing programs
…DON’T USE THEM!  Most users hate to get any kind of pop up and are
conditioned to immediately close them because they find them annoying.
Pop unders are OK to use but make sure they only load once per visit.

Text Link Ads
Test link ads are one of the most successful means of advertising your
affiliate marketing programs and products. They are don’t use a lot
of space on the page and they are bandwidth friendly. The better ads
give a little info that tells the visitor why they should check out
the product.

Advertising via Email
Email advertising is great!  Just be careful that your message is not
construed as SPAM. Also, just know that you need to be ready to stand
behind what you are selling and make yourself available to answer any
questions.

The Waiting Game
Now, after all of your promotion, just simply wait for the traffic to
come in and visitors to convert to sales of your product.

That’s all for now!

I agree with you 100% on the whole pop up and pop under thing. I never even got into it because I know it annoys the heck out of me so why would I ever want to do it to someone else.
    Nice post.
